FitSplit Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how FitSplit uses cookies and similar technologies in the FitSplit web app and PWA.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, IndexedDB, service workers, push tokens, and device/browser storage used to keep web apps working.

2. What FitSplit uses

FitSplit currently uses cookies and local technologies for essential service functions only. These may include:

  • authentication and session cookies, including fitsplit-session;
  • role and workspace routing cookies;
  • terms-acceptance or consent state;
  • CSRF, security, rate-limiting, or abuse-prevention data;
  • PWA service-worker cache needed for installable app behavior;
  • IndexedDB data for offline workout/lift logging;
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging token if you opt in to push notifications;
  • browser/device storage needed for app preferences and continuity.

3. Why we use them

We use these technologies to:

  • keep you signed in;
  • route you to the right member, owner, trainer, or admin workspace;
  • maintain gym tenant isolation;
  • protect accounts and prevent abuse;
  • remember required consent/acknowledgement state;
  • support offline workout logging and later sync;
  • deliver push notifications where enabled;
  • keep the app reliable and functional.

4. Advertising and analytics cookies

FitSplit does not currently use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-context behavioral advertising cookies.

If FitSplit adds non-essential analytics or marketing cookies later, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent before placing them.

5. Your choices

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies or storage, FitSplit may not work correctly, and you may be unable to log in, stay signed in, use offline logging, or receive notifications.

You can disable push notifications through your browser or device settings.
